Do you know when your heart is set on something, and it doesn't work out? You wanted that cute house with the beautiful trees, only to find they won't hold it for you? Or you receive "bad" news - the company you have your auto loan financed through suddenly turn into hard nosed jerks, nickel and dime-ing you. Or that fellow/gal who "break" your heart? I could go on and on... but, I think you get the picture.
Angry mode switches on, right? Or sad, defeated, disappointed mode. Perhaps the defeatist recording begins to play in your head: "Nothing works out for me. Why is this happening to me? I'm having such a bad day!"
I want you to remember one little phrase when this happens (as this was my day today - little bits of sprinkled icky news) - "Flip it."
I don't want you to waste a second of your precious time and joy on berating yourself, your luck, or questioning why. That last bit I added because I am going to tell you exactly why: Because you are being redirected. And the redirection is a million times better for you than what you think you want right now.
That cute little condo? - those landlords might turn out to be Cruella Deville's relatives. That finance company? - You are paying too much interest on your loan. it's time to get a better deal.
How do I know?
Because it's happened to me. Countless romantic heartbreaks, and far too many tears shed, and the fellow who loves me now, is beyond my greatest imaginings. The times I fought against the tide for the "home", it turned into a mire of woe with "evil" landlords, mold, and unpredicted obstacles. In the end, that little stop sign, that obstacle was my sign to redirect. I was on the wrong path, with the wrong person, hoping for one thing, when something better was around the corner. If I didn't redirect, somehow this "sign" knew I was in for a world of "worse".
A few weeks ago, for example, my friend Stacy of Bella Wish (who makes the most gorgeous jewelry), mistakenly stamped "magie" instead of magic on one of her pieces. O happy accidents! I happen to be in love with a magician, and our lives are full of seeking magic in our everyday lives. Together we discovered, "magie" is magic in French.
And today, this happy, beautiful necklace arrived at my door, on a day, in which I very well could have griped, "today is not my day. why do things happen to me? I really wanted that {fill in the blank}" . I was proud of myself the few times unpleasant news arrived in my day. I didn't cry, shout, wail about the injustice. Even I was amazed.
And then, like a happy sign that I had done good... here was some "magie".
Everything happens for a reason, my friends. Flip it... and you find that bad news was good news. And something greater emerges.
Please visit my beautiful, talented friend's amazing shop to find some magie of your own! XO
