I have a Summer wish list. I want to get outside, explore, make memories, start new traditions. For far too many summers, over the past few years, I have preoccupied my Summer months with working too many hours indoors. The time has come to shirk some of that tedium. Laundry, bills, errands, and the computer can wait. Summer is here!
On my wish list for the summer...
1. Make a fort/ teepee. Decorate it with the Mister and the girls! (*have a slumber party outside!)
2. Family homemade pizza and movie night Friday's.(*a new tradition for my little family, based on the tradition I had growing up!)
3. Take a train from Orange County to San Diego! (or - the Skunk Train in Leggett!)
4. Go miniature golfing.
5. Run through the sprinklers.
6. Blow bubbles.
7. Picnic at the beach.
8. Camp with Mr Bird & the Girls in the redwoods.
9. See a musical at an outdoor Ampitheatre!
10. Buy tickets for Tori Amos (and bring the girls!)
11. Orange County Fair & Laguna Beach Art Festival
12. Family hand prints + Frame
13. Begin guitar/banjo lessons
14. Pick fruits + veggies in Central California
15. Fingerpaint
16. Finish e-course, etsy store, and get out there!
17. Make dreamcatchers
18. Paint portraits of the girls for their rooms
19. Go firedancing
20. Visit the Getty museum
21. Take family on a tour of Orange County, my old stomping grounds! (*Big Newport Theater, Ruby's, Balboa Island, Frozen Bananas!)
22. Disneyland!!!
23. Finish wedding details (*and send out invitations, finally*)
24. Yoga
25. Buy a bicycle and rollerblades. (*use them!!)
26. Go to the movies (the new Muppet movie and Harry Potter are on the list!)
27. Take a blanket, the family, and a trip just outside the bright lights of the city to gaze at the stars.
28. Swim as many days as possible!
29. Go Horseback riding!
30. Have a fiesta!
31. Invite friends to a fondue gathering!
32. See live music!
33. Mysterious, magical secret wish!
34. Make homemade soap and candles!
35. Visit 7 waterfalls with the family!
OK! That seems reasonable doesn't it? In fact, I might add more depending on how many items are checked off the list by August!
Do you have any dreams for the Summer? What's on your list? I'd love to hear your ideas.
Hugs, always -
T
